Music at Emmanuel
Music is an integral part of worship at Emmanuel United Church. Our music program is built on a foundation of a music director/organist, and leaders of each music group - which include a
20-voice senior choir, a 10-voice children’s choir, and a 5-member folk group. Working with our worship committee and minister, our leaders select and present music that enhances regular worship and special occasions at Emmanuel to make them inspirational, dynamic, and memorable.
Colin Persad,
our musical director and organist, has a wealth of musical experiences and gifts
to share with our ministry team!

Senior Choir
Emmanuel's adult choir (referred to as the senior choir) meets weekly to
practice on Thursday evenings from 7:30-9:30 p.m. This group has the primary
responsibility for providing musical leadership at Sunday
services. Music ranges from traditional to contemporary... from four parts to
simpler arrangements. Reading music is NOT a pre-requisite for joining. If you
have a joy and passion for singing a diverse repertoire of music, and sharing
fellowship and musical leadership (with a smile) each week... this is the
ministry for you! New members are always welcome.
New Directions
The Emmanuel Folk Group "New Directions" is a musical group of approximately five singers and musicians that share contemporary music at Emmanuel, and elsewhere in the community.
The New Directions are usually heard on the first and third Sunday of the month, as well as at other times during the year.
We meet Sunday mornings from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. upstairs. New voices and instruments are always welcome.
The Children’s Choir
At times, over the past 10 years, we have had two children's choirs, a teen
choir and a Primary choir. Most recently the Choir has been for children
ages 4 to 12. They sang during worship one Sunday each month. They
have also provided the foundation for Sunday School musicals.
We are currently searching for a new team to work with both the younger
children and the older teens. If you have some musical talent and enjoy
working with children, please contact the church office.
Currently the Contact button is live if you want to get in touch with Emmanuel.
